Affiliate Membership Procedure
Updated at the 2010 Annual Meeting
Affiliate Members wishing to nominate and sponsor prospective new Affiliate Members make their nomination to the President (or Acting President) along with the person’s name, email address, mailing address, home telephone number, and a brief description of their nominee’s background. Either the President or, at his direction, the Vice President for Communications shall announce the nomination to the Affiliate membership at large and ask if there are any objections to the nominee. Hearing no objection within five days after the announcement, the Executive Committee (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President for Communications) will approve the nomination and notify the BGA Affiliates at large. When approved, the new member will be added directly to the BGA Affiliates ranks and sent a welcoming message by the Vice President for Communications. All Affiliates are encouraged to welcome new Affiliate Members when the announcement is made.
