CHRONOLOGY AVAILABLE FOR THE NATIONAL BISON RANGE COMPLEX (NBRC) ANNUAL FUNDING AGREEMENT (AFA) ISSUE
Now at four years and running, it has become increasingly difficult for a concerned individual to keep track of events, details and documents related to the NBRC AFA. That problem complicates communication with elected officials, NGOs and individuals. Key points need documentation and details such as dates can be important.
That problem prompted the creation of this new NBRC AFA summary. Beginning with the 2002 DOI notice of programs eligible for AFAs, the document lists relevant events in date order, each with brief statements of event significance. This accumulation of events has the effect of presenting both issue overview and the progression of intertwined and related factors. Whenever possible and available, web links are included to tie the events to source documents, allowing readers to delve more deeply if desired. To provide background for readers who are new to the issue, one section discusses AFAs and relevant law. Finally, in response to future, significant events, the summary will be updated periodically and posted on the "Info" page of the Blue Goose Alliance web site.
The document found here, or a link to its web posting, can be forwarded with letters or e-mails that seek action on behalf of the NBRC. Or, it can fill the more basic need for centralized, simplified research.
